Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce & Industry - 2006 Gauteng Exporter of the Year -Small Manufacturing Award
The Gauteng Exporter of the Year competition is about success stories. The Awards acknowledge the achievements of Gauteng businesses that are successfully competing against worldwide competitors - despite 2005 being an especially difficult year for exporters due to the strong Rand. It is hoped that the successes they have achieved will inspire other businesses that would also like to grow their enterprises and increase their profits by exporting - either products or services.
The Gauteng Exporter of the Year competition was launched in 2001 to highlight the contribution exports make to the province’s GDP. The various categories, namely Small Manufacturing (turnover under R20 million), Medium Manufacturing (turnover between R20 – 200 million), Large Manufacturing (turnover over R200 million), and Export Services ensure that companies in every industry and of all sizes can compete on equal footing. The overall winner, chosen from the category winners, exemplifies outstanding performance.
